Carley Serena, M.S. CCC-SLP
Carley believes in patient-centered care, with a focus on making therapy functional and meaningful for both patients and their loved ones. She understands the importance of evidence based practice, and has been a part of research conducted in Aphasia Therapy, Apraxia of Speech, Music Therapy, and Animal Assisted Therapy. Her dream is to one day have her own therapy dog to use during sessions!
is an ASHA Certified speech-language pathologist who received her master's degree in speech therapy from Marquette University and bachelor's degree in speech therapy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has practiced as a speech therapist in a variety of settings, including skilled nursing, home health, & schools.
When working with Carley, no communication or cognitive goal is off limits. She has helped patients with seemingly small, yet meaningful tasks such as learning to say "I love you", speaking more fluently in class, memorizing grandchildren's names, and even ordering a pizza! Carley knows the true value of these everyday tasks that so many take for granted. Her goal is to teach you the strategies and give you the tools you need to make your life easier, better, and of course, sweeter.
In her free time, Carley can be found running marathons, looking for the best cup of coffee, and spending time with her family and friends, whom she loves dearly.
"My job was to give them faith in their voice,
& let them know that a friend was listening."
